Certified translations
Certified translations are often requested by courts and authorities. The accuracy and completeness of the translation must be certified by specially authorized translators with his signature. The approval of the translator is done by a District Court or Court of Appeal, where the signature of the translator is stored. The translation can be done from the original, a certified or a simple copy.
Private translations
Certified translations in the private sector are required for personal documents (birth, marriage, death certificates, marriage ability certificates) for applications (school, work and clearance certificates) as well as for name changes, training / naturalization process applications (residence permit, visa, pension), etc.
Companies
Here certified translations are needed in connection with the creation of a company or a subsidiary in Germany or abroad, or in connection with litigation involving foreign countries. The documents are trade register extracts, charters, treaties, statutes, powers of attorney, court judgments, writs, etc.

Do you need a certified translation of documents and other certificates?
Please send me your document as a normal copy or as a scanned copy by email or fax to receive my quotation. The presentation of the originals is desirable but not mandatory: you can send me the document as well as original or as a certified copy by mail (registered or simple mail).
I will then translate your documents or your certificate and I will give the legal confirmation with my certification stamp and my signature. A notary or a lawyer is not required.
In the legalization phrase is noted whether the document to be translated was shown as an original, a certified or uncertified copy or copies of the original document.
Then I send the certified document translation back to you by postal mail. If you wish, you can of course receive a copy by fax or e-mail. When you give my translation to the authorities, however, please always show them the original certified translation and the original document. I can send to you the certified translation nationwide and in all countries in which you need your certified translation.
The prices of certified documents consist of the following:
- Translation (usually based on standard lines or words)
- Authentication (fixed price of € 10 per document)
- Post fee
I can gladly send you a fixed price quotation on the basis of the work load I think will be neccessary. For small orders I charge a flat fee of 30,00 €, excl. the legal certification fee.
If you need a certified translation in several copies, the cost of the translation of course will only be charged once and you just pay the regular for each copy with certification.

Why is the translation of a document so complicated?
The translator is officially obliged to be exactly on every point. This applies even if individual words or abbreviations (eg, degrees, etc., military ranks, job titles) are imposible to translate - then the translator must investigate and make explanatory notes. All stamps, revenue stamps, handwritten notes and other certifications must also be translated. Also crossed or unreadable parts or fields without entries must be explained. And there are often many different types of lettering and hand-written entries, stamps, tables, etc. that are used side by side or one above the other in deeds, and the re-creation of such texts on the PC is extremely complex. This is especially true if the text to be translated is no file in text format, but only a scanned or faxed copy that still has to be typed. For maximum accuracy, multiple proofreading is required. Only after all this is that the completed translation will be printed, checked again, will be sent with stamp and signature to the post office.
Do I need a certified translation at all?
The competent national authority (eg court registry office, immigration authorities or university) will tell you whether you need to make the translation of your documents by an approved translator.
Can I do a certified translation by a non-authorized translator?
No. These translations are usually not recognized by courts and authorities.
